MeterPlugs Audio Inc. is a privately owned company that is located in Vancouver, Canada.

MeterPlugs was founded in 2009 by Ian Kerr. At the time, audio levels were being pushed to the limit. Compressors were working overtime. Digital clipping was the rule, not the exception. The loudness war, as it is called, was in full swing.

As a music lover first and foremost, Ian felt that the loudness war was detrimental to the industry. He wanted to see a return to dynamic, nuanced and natural sounding music. When Ian discovered Bob Katz's K-System, with its emphasis on dynamic range, he found his calling and developed K-Meter.
